    Dreams ~ A Quote on Focusing Forward

    The problems of the world cannot possibly be solved by skeptics or cynics whose horizons are limited by the obvious realities. We need men who can dream of things that never were. ~John Keats

    There is power in that simple sentiment, in a quote, that we the people of this world, are being relied upon to make changes in the world now for the existence tomorrow. Those who need to make the change are those who want to make the change, who don't speak of doom or gloom, as a skeptic or cynic would, but instead to make a change there needs to be a belief there can be change. There needs to be action in that objective, by people with similar focus on actual progress not digression simply because they chose to believe the skeptics or cynics.

    Progress starts with people understanding there can be progress, and who are then also willing to work out an approach to it, to look beyond the box, step outside and start to really put forth conscious effort on true progression. Those who are willing to take the time to think differently, to think for themselves and to grow through that strong belief, that yes they can make change, not only that they are choosing to make change come hell or high water. To do what it takes to put focus forward, to make progress in a direction of long overdue change.

    Make the choice to be one of those who want to solve problems;

    Define skeptic and cynic.

    Wishful thinking is fine but it takes good skepticism to deal with the details, that make the real difference. Those who do not remember mistakes of the past will repeat them but skeptics will remember and avoid the waste. Solving the problems in the details with critical thinking based on the scientific method accounts for most of the toughest problems throughout history that have been solved.

    over 2 years ago John Hammond responded:
    Religion is also based on wishful thinking. Creating salvation through myth as truth. Religion itself will create the very thing for which salvation will become necessary. The scientific method and good skepticism will save us from wishful thinking's grandiose creations.
    over 2 years ago John Hammond responded:
    The best method to discovering that which has never been is science. The changes come from the observation and testing and the probabilities that convince rational minds to make changes. Skeptics use science and Religions use dreams. The dream side is winning and that will be what destroys us, unless we become a world culture of scientific understanding.

    Skeptic and Cynic is those who do not take the time to consider what should be done or could be done, instead any idea that comes out all they try and do is tear it a part, they offer nothing constructive only focused on looking for the smallest thing to make as big as possible to stop progress, seems to be often a direct result of the skeptic or cynic. Though what they offer is only to try and cause stagnation using doubt, or simply the idea that nothing works so just be happy with how you are. And be like me, so we can make sure progress is stopped.

    Not all skeptics use any type of thinking they just focus on anything they can tear apart and put down simply because that is what they do. There are some who may offer something more, but they must also be willing to see all aspects, and take them into consideration.Not just always look for the smallest thing to rip apart an otherwise good idea for progress.

    Certainly it is important to see all aspects but it should be just as important for all those involved in the exchange to also take the time to see the whole picture.
